 J.J. Barea gives New York a thumbs up. Could he be heading to the Knicks? NEW YORK – The Knicks have interest in J.J. Barea and J.J. Barea has interest in playing in New York City. The Knicks have made contact with Barea’s agent and they remain among five teams who reached out to Dan Fegan, according to reports. New York is in the market for a backup point guard and Barea, who helped led the Mavericks to the championship last season, headlines a list of possible free agents bound for the Big Apple.
