Detroit, Michigan – In our effort to showcase the talent of the Photographers who contribute to LatinoSports.com, we’re making a strong commitment to produce photo journals in their honor. Detroit-based photographer Lisa Luevanos is a Detroit Tigers fan. She was on hand to witness the Detroit Tigers lose 1-0 to the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park.
As stated in her website, LisaLuevanos.com:
Born and raised in Southwest Detroit, Lisa was introduced to the art of the photography by her mother, Mary Puente Luevanos, a noted artist in her own right. Over time Lisa’s interest grew from curiosity to passion as she learned to manipulate light and images in the small darkroom housed in the basement of the Luevanos home.
Lisa Luevanos captures the history, culture, and daily interactions of the beautiful and diverse communities of Metropolitan Detroit in vivid, provocative images. Her photography has been exhibited at galleries, festivals and art shows throughout the state of Michigan, and has appeared in a variety of magazines, newspapers, websites and other publications.
