NEW YORK – Boxing champ Miguel Cotto bought his camp into New York, keeping mum about his business.

His business is punishing unsuspecting victims and never looking back. He's the silent assassin. He said his father told him: “never tell anyone what you're going to do – just do it."

A couple of weeks ago at the Mosley, Judah press conference, I spoke to Mosley. Mosley was still in a bit of confusion as to how he lost that fight and how Cotto refuses to give him a rematch. I mentioned this to Cotto and asked him why he teased Mosley, telling him he would retire with the belt, and never give him a chance at a rematch.

"I don't make any decisions in my career. A rematch wouldn't be in my thoughts because it’s not a fight that's been discussed or a fight that’s been on our minds." Miguel Cotto's trainer Jose Gomez claims it’s up to the promoters to make that bout happen. I spoke to Kery Davis, senior vice president for HBO, this is the guy that snatched up this fight making it possible for you and me to see. He told me: "pound for pound Miguel Cotto is the best boxer in the world. When Cotto first started boxing, he fought experienced boxers and beat them at their own game. In the Mosley fight, after the first four rounds, you knew Mosley was out of it. Cotto has other challenges ahead of him.

“The only way we can get a rematch, is if the promoters are waiting for the purse to get bigger and then we get a Cotto vs Mosley,” he added. “The promoters for Cotto being Top Rank and Golden Boy for Mosley  have to come to a mutual agreement on this and right now the way Cotto's going I don't see it happening any time soon."

Yesterday L.A. Times reported that a Balco informant has proof Mosley had used steroids and that Mosley committed perjury when he testified in front of Congress that he did not use steroids. Some speculate that the Mosley, Judah fight is in jeopardy. That pretty much settles that, Cotto won't have to worry about Mosley for awhile.

Boxing promoter Bob Arum reiterated what Kery Davis said: "Miguel Cotto, pound for pound is the best boxer in the sport of boxing today. He's the complete package and he's not the type you'll see on Dancing with the Stars, but he brings excitement to the world of boxing."

Another reporter asked Bob if Mayweather could be a contender someday and Arum snapped,"Floyd's a fraud, he's deliberately dodging boxing matches, that's why he's doing the whole wrestling bit. Mayweather is a fraud."

Saturday's fight at Atlantic City has two rivalries going head to head. Cotto (P.R.) going against Gomez (Mex),and Cintron goes against Margarito. Gomez told the crowd that after fighting his way from Mexico to New York, he's elevated himself, spiritually and mentally. He feels he has gained enough experience and intends on bringing the championship belt home to Mexico. He chanted, "Viva Mexico. Viva Mexico." The crowd chanted back, "Viva Puerto Rico, Viva Puerto Rico."
