Barea Good Luck Charm for Mav’s

The statistics prove it. The Puerto Rican guard, José Juan Barea AKA JJB is as close as the Mavericks have to a good luck charm.

This season the veteran energy reserve is fitting equally well with the strategic scheme of Dallas, as it did in its last stay in Mark Cuban’s franchise, from 2006 to 2011. That streak ended with the team winning the NBA championship in the 2010-2011 season.

Barea scored 10 or more points five times this season for the Mavericks, who acquired him in free agency after his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, purchased his contract and later released him. The five appearances with Barea’s 10 points with Dallas have ended in victories for his team.

The Mavs are 15-5 when Barea is on the court. They lost the only game that has not played the Puerto Rican guard from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
