The Current Lineal and Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez (47-1-1, 33 KOs) was named The Fighter of Year by ESPN.com, USA Today’s Boxing Junkie, The Bleacher Report, Fight News and ranked as number 4 on Yahoo! Sports list for Fighter of the Year.

Additionally, ESPN.com, The Bleacher Report,USA Today’s Boxing Junkie, Boxing News and The Sweet Science all awarded Canelo Alvarez vs. James Kirkland Knockout of the Year as Canelo Alvarez, in front of more than 31,000 raucous fans at Minute Maid Park in Houston on May 9

He emerged as the Face of Boxing and the next Pay-Per-View king in the wake of Floyd Mayweather’s and Manny Pacquiao’s retirement, backed by the support of millions of fans with the Pay-Per-View numbers to prove it. He was part of the two biggest Pay-Per-View boxing bouts in the last 12 months, and his victories over Miguel Cotto and Amir “King” Khan generated a combined 1.5 million buys.
