Many know that the biggest baseball stadium in Puerto Rico is named after him, but they know very little details of the man. I can also bet than even fewer know that this Puerto Rican played in the majors before Jackie Robinson, baseball’s first African-American.

It is for this reason that I am honored to have been invited to moderate a very interesting forum tonight with the author of the book: Hiram Bithorn, 1st Puerto Rican Major League Baseball Player.

The author, Jorge Fidel López will enlighten us with details about the life and times of Hiram Bithorn. I encourage all to attend this free event. You do not have to be Puerto Rican, or a baseball fan to learn about this fascinating individual: Hiram Bithorn.
