With the Indianapolis 500 a few days away, Venezeulean racecar driver E.J. Viso took a moment from his schedule to talk with LatinoSports.com. You can follow E.J. on twitter at @EJVISO.

What does the Indianapolis 500 mean to you?

Being involved in such a historical race really means a lot. When I first came here I don’t believe I really understood the importance of this event, but now that I’ve been in it five times, I’m really proud and honored to be back again.

I believe that winning this race means a bit more than winning any other. It is a very difficult race to win – it’s very mental and physical. Only the driver that makes the fewest mistakes is going to be the one with the bigger chance of winning it.

What’s the origin behind the number 5?

I’ve liked five for a while. I have different numbers I like, but I think five is a good number. We have five senses, five fingers…five is a number that works good with nature. I believe in energy, and five is a good number that involves plenty of factors.

Who do you listen to (Music)?

To be honest, I like to listen to all kinds of music. I don’t have a favorite type, I just listen to whatever I feel I need to listen at the moment to be in a certain mindset. I think music is a great tool to work with, and depending on what you want to achieve, music always kind of helps you do it faster.

Are there any other sports you follow?

Yeah, I follow a bit of every other sport. I like soccer, football, basketball, baseball…to be honest I’m not a huge fan of any of those, but I follow them because I understand them. I’m not the kind of person who knows each score and each player’s name, but I do appreciate and do like every sport.
