Victor makes a great role model for our youth. (Photo Bill Menzel) The football season might have ended with a great Superbowl Giant’s win over the New England Patriots, but Victor Cruz is still celebrating everywhere he goes. The New York Giants wide receiver has touched off a storm in and out of the NFL.

NY Giants Victor Cruz showing off his Puerto Rican flag at the media day press conference. (Photo AP) Bronx, NY - The Super Bowl party that I attended in the Bronx was one of millions that were taking place across the country. However, little did I know that Latino history would be made giving us many more reasons to celebrate after the NFC Champions, NY Giants defeated the AFC Champs, New England Patriots 21- 17. The game was a nail biter up to the last few seconds when Tom Brady threw a 65-yard “Hail Mary” that did not create the miracle intended, but gave the New York Fans reason to party.

Nice to see a Latin surname on a Champioship Football team. (Photo LSV) Secaucus, NJ – Yesterday, Friday I had the opportunity to join the Latino Sports crew cover the Giants practice session at the Meadowlands Sports Complex. Latino Sports has been very consistent in covering the Giants especially keeping our readers, viewers and listeners up to date on the Puerto Rican Salsero, Victor Cruz.

Victor Cruz in Times Square where he showed his Salsa move (Photo Andrew Rosario/LSV) New York, NY - He turned down the invitation to be on Dancing with the Stars but New York Giants wide receiver extrodinaire Victor Cruz could not pass up an invitation to take his salsa dancing skills to Broadway. Fresh off his stellar performance (10 catches, 142 yards) in the 20-17 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Cruz shuffled his feet at the Modell’s Times Square location to the delight of Giants fans. He talked about the origin of his touchdown celebration, how exhausted he was after the team clinched the NFC Championship and being part of his very first Super Bowl. Oh, he also gave an example of the dance he hopes to display at some point during the game that will take place February 5th in Indianapolis.

By: Julio Cesar Roman) El Bronx – New York lights shined brighter the second NY Giants, Lawrence Tynes kicked his 31-yard field goal through the uprights in San Francisco yesterday to send the Giants to Super Bowl XLVI with a 20-17 victory over the 49ers in the NFC Championship. I really believe that New Yorker’s let out such a unison scream that it was probably heard in San Francisco. The NY Giants has become the surprising team in these NFL post-season games giving all New Yorkers a sense of pride that has been felt throughout the state.

Like the team's resurgent defense, Brandon Jacobs (No. 27) and the running game came alive as the New York Giants destroyed Atlanta 24-2 Sunday on Wild Card weekend. -PHOTO BY BILL MENZEL / LSV East Rutherford, NJ – The biggest question on the minds of New York Giants fans when they faced the Atlanta Falcons Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium was which Giants team would show up. Would it be the team that won their last two games of the season against the Jets and Cowboys? Or would it be the team that lost 5 of 6 games that made it mandatory for them to win those last two games in order to qualify for the tournament?
