Mexico Sends Dominican Republic Home

The Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Republic once again came close, but the miracle comeback was not to be, not this time as the Tomateros of Culiacan eliminated Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series.

Mexican, Terrance Marin had the powerful Dominican offensive in check for six innings, and his teammates took command early in the game to become the first team to reach the finals of the 2015 Caribbean Series. It was an intense game that Mexico came out on top, 5-4.

With the win, the Tomateros sent the Dominican Republic home and became the first team to go to the finals tonight at 5:30 pm, where they will face the winner of tonight’s game where they will face Cuba (see that story next).

Mexico went after its third title in Caribbean classics and the third in the last four series. Mexico was crowned in 2011 in Mayaguez, in 2013 in Hermosillo and last year in Margarita Island, Venezuela.
