Mayagüez, PR: Horacio Nava Reza of Mexíco easily won the 50 kilometer walk surpassing the best time recorded in this event by 15 minutes. Horacis was on a groove and was just 1 minute and 25 seconds from establishing a new regional record. Though Horacio stated that he did not intend to set any records due to the heat, he did walk away with Gold Medal for him & Mexíco that at present is leading in the total medal count.
