Boquerón, Cabo Rojo. Yarleen Santiago y Dariam Acevedo came close to making it a golden day. In the morning these two dynamic Boricuas made history by defeating Costa Rica and qualifying to play in the finals against Mexíco. It was historic because with that victory they had guaranteed a Silver medal, thus becoming the first female duo to ever win a medal in Beach Volleyball.

In the afternoon, the dynamic duo face the Mexican finalist, Mayra García y Bibiana Candela. Though the ladies gave their maximum effort they lost to the Mexicans who were just as intence and in search of that Gold medal. The game was a "toma y dame" with a score that never separated the ladies by more than two points. Puerto Rico lost 21-19 & 28-26
