Cabo Rojo, PR: Puerto Rico's Women's Beach Volleyball team made history this morning by becoming the first medal winners in this sport. Yarleen Santiago and Dariam Acevedo were etatic as they played a very hard and competive game that only had at most a four point difference.

These Boricuas won 21-16, 21-17. They played Ingrid Morales y Natalia Alfaro from Costa Rica to assure themselves and their island nation a silver medal. They will play later today Mexíco for the Gold.
 
These first morning matches were played in the very popular, Boquerón Beach a mecca for Puerto Rican youth from the island and many youth from outside the island.
