Remembering One Of The Best Baseball Teams Ever!

Carlos Baerga was emotionally touched yesterday, remembering his teammates from the Puerto Rican team that won the 1995 Caribbean Series going undefeated in that series. “It really was a something spectacular. I’m playing third, Rey Sánchez playing short, Roberto (Alomar) playing second, Carlos Delgado catcher…”, When I watch those videos, it’s amazing¡Wow! There we had the best players in Latin America,” He said.

Baerga, and the vast majority of those players that mader up that unstoppable machine, received recognition in the Puerto Rican Senate, on this the 20th anniversary of that historic team. This 2015 Caribbean Series in San Juan is dedicated to that Dream Team regarded by many as one of the best baseball teams in history.

With the exception of Rey Sanchez, the rest of the players that made up that team were present at the ceremony: Carmelo Martínez (first base), Roberto Alomar (second base), Carlos Baerga (third base), Juan “Igor “González (outfielder), Bernie Williams (outfielder), Rubén” El Indio “Sierra (outfielder), Edgar Martinez (DH) and Carlos Delgado (catcher). Also attending were the pitchers Ricky Bones, Roberto Hernandez, Rafael “Rafy” Montalvo, John Hiram Burgos, Ricky Torres and infielder Jose Elam “Rico” Rossy.
