Dear Red Bulls Fans: It is with great honor that we officially announced the signing of one of global soccer’s greatest players, Thierry Henry, earlier today. Thierry brings a pedigree that a very select few can match. We are confident that acquiring a player of Thierry’s caliber is a giant step forward in our ultimate goal of winning an MLS Cup Championship not only this year, but for years to come.

No matter how you look at it, Thierry is a winner. He has played at some of the most prestigious clubs in the world, and success has followed him wherever he has gone. Thierry has been an integral part of teams that have captured the World Cup, the European Championship, the Champions League, and multiple domestic titles in England, Spain, and France.

We are confident that the list of Thierry’s championships and accomplishments is not complete, and that it will continue to grow during his tenure with the Red Bulls. The acquisition of a player of Thierry’s caliber is our latest step in our commitment to making the Red Bulls the premium franchise in Major League Soccer.

We expect Thierry to be available for our match on Thursday, July 22 against his former rival club, Tottenham Hotspur, at Red Bull Arena. He is excited to start his career as a Red Bull on a positive note and has clearly communicated to us that winning is his number one goal.

Thierry’s arrival has obviously brought a lot of attention off the field. We are excited to tell you that Thierry will be appearing on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Thursday night and will feature on a number of different national outlets and programs within the next few days and likely over the coming weeks.

Thierry's press conference from Red Bull Arena on Thursday, where he will be officially unveiled as out newest designated player, will be streamed live on newyorkredbulls.com beginning at 1:15 PM.
