Today, Latino Sports To Honor, Edwin Díaz Of The Seattle Mariners For His Participation In Team Puerto Rico’s Performance In The WBC

on

Baltimore, MD – Latino Sports team members drove down this morning from New York City to honor, Seattle Mariners reliever, Edwin Díaz today, Tuesday August 29th, 2017 for his participation in the historic 2017 World Baseball Classic (WBC) with team Puerto Rico.

Latino Sports is on a campaign to honor every member of Team Puerto Rico that played in the 2017 World Baseball Classic for being the sports gladiators that brought so much pride to an island in serious need of uplifting.

The 3.5 million Puerto Ricans on the island and the 5.5 million Puerto Ricans in the mainland still talk about and remember the incredible Team Puerto Rico that went undefeated to the finals against team USA.

Though team Puerto Rico lost the final game to the USA and did not win the Gold Medal, they did win Silver. However, more importantly they won the hearts of every Puerto Rican who had been following every game in Puerto Rico so much so that it united the entire island at a time when the island needed unity due the worst economic crisis that has affected the island.

We believe that if the entire island was able to unite for those games, perhaps they can learn a lesson from that and realize that they can unite to address the serious economic crisis that is strangling the island for the average person.

The fact is that sports has played a role in the history of other nations, we in Latino Sports want to contribute to learning from this experience and helping to improve the current conditions on the island.
