New York- Days before WrestleMania 29 kicks off at the MetLife Stadium over at East Rutherford, NJ, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) fans had the opportunity to meet many of their favorite superstars at the annual WrestleMania Axxess over at the IZOD Center.
Similar to the New York Comic Con, you fans who were cosplaying their favorite WWE Superstar of past and present. Many of them carried their championship belts and were more than willing to profess their love for the WWE. Along with meeting the superstars, fans were treated to several wrestling matches courtesy of the WWE’s developmental wrestling program NXT.
Complimenting the superstars meeting and matches, fans had a good time walking around the IZOD Center looking at the memorabilia of the past 28 WrestleManias. Courtesy of Fruity Pebbles, fans were treated to cereal and had the opportunity to jump in the Fruity Pebbles Foam Pit. For those fans who love video games and action figures, there was a station to accommodate their needs. For the aspiring artists, the WWE had a casting call both where fans auditioned for a future WWE Studios film.
Superstars both current and Legends appeared to enjoy this experience too as they enthusiastically signed autographs and posed for photos with their fans. Personally speaking, I geeked out when I saw Harley Race, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, and of course Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. All in all, this was an event for the WWE fan at heart. It is an experience worth attending.
In recognition of this amazing experience, enjoy the WrestleMania Axxess Photo Journal!
