Yankees Fans Agree With Cashman Trade Moves

South Bronx, NY –  When the Yankees made the stunning trades of Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, Ivan Nova and Carlos Beltran many Yankee fans were stunned. They were surprised not so much by the trades, but by the number and quickness of the Brian Cashman move.

They completed five trades in eight days and that was mucho for a team that has not done much trading at that level. The fans, the foes and critics everywhere were commenting on the Cashman trades. In essence the fans had to contend with the Yankees basically giving up on this season and building for the future.

That must have been a hard pill to swallow for many Yankee executives who are so bent on buying veterans to help get them to a playoff spot. Throwing in the towel, giving up on this season’s possibility of going for a championship in not a Bronx Bomber tradition. Now that we have had a few days to let the dust settle from those trade moves I decided to take my own poll.

Therefore, I walked around the stadium and spoke to many fans of all ages about the trades and ask the people who were at the stadium for their opinion. The results of my informal, people to people poll, was as follows. Fans support Brian Cashman I interviewed approximately twenty fans and it was 100% in favor of the Cashman trades.

Here were some of those comments: “It was a quick, fast and in a hurry move that brought the Yankees a brighter future. The Yankees went from one of the worst farm systems in baseball, ranked at 28 out of 30 to perhaps the second best. I support Cashman and these trades,” stated Julio Antonio.

Young Adrian, a little leaguer stated, “I like having a younger team.” However, he felt that they should have kept Chapman, but that he agreed with the trades in bringing in new younger players that will help the Yankees a lot more in the future.

Charles a 70-year-old Yankee fan stated: “I agree with the moves that Cashman made. I believe that Beltran was good, but on his way out and getting something for him now as well as what he got for the other trades was good for the future of the team.” He continued and stated that the Yankees should get rid of Texiera and Alex Rodríguez as well.

Harry, another senior stated that he did not agree with much of Cashman’s decisions, “however, I must agree with this one. “I believe all the moves he made were very good moves for the future of the team.”

Elizabeth stated: “ The Yankees needed an infusion of new blood and hopefully they made all the right choices.”

The people have spoken… Cashman you’re a genius. The fans are 100% behind you.
