The lockout, the pandemic, Rob Manfred, American football, basketball, soccer, the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), and team owners.
Never before, in 151 years of Major League Baseball, has our favorite sport faced so much danger.
It all starts because ESPN and FOX, the pampered partners of Commissioner Manfred, no longer want to pay what they have contributed in recent years for broadcast rights. ESPN $1 billion per season and FOX $1.4 billion.
It would be the first time in the last 62 years that the amount paid for this reason is not raised, but lowered.
ESPN and FOX allege how baseball has fallen in public preference.
A survey by the respected company “Gallup” has just reported that 37 out of 100 Americans prefer American football over any other sport; Likewise, basketball is in second place, with 11%; Major League Baseball ranks third, but with just 9%; and soccer is very close with 7%.
Now, at the end of this year, the Soccer World Cup will be played, so this sport is expected to surpass baseball and stay by that point, which will take MLB to last place in this group.
The decline of baseball is logical, given how badly it has been treated as a show. And the worst thing is that they continue to treat the sport.
After 50 years of clowning baseball in the American League, they will also spoil the National, with the designated hitter.
If they get through the ninth inning tied, they apply the Rule against extra innings, with the gift runner on second at the start of each inning.

Coral Gables, Florida (VIP-WIRE) – Si se observa bien el drama, son ocho las amenazas a las cuales está expuesto el pobre beisbol hoy día…:
El lockout, la pandemia, Rob Manfred, el fútbol americano, el basquetbol, el fútbol soccer, la Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) y los propietarios de equipos.
Nunca antes, en 151 años de Grandes Ligas estuvo nuestro deporte favorito ante tanto peligro.
Todo comienza porque ESPN y FOX, los socios mimados del comisionado Manfred, ya no quieren pagar lo que han aportado en los últimos años por los derechos de transmisión. ESPN mil millones de dólares por temporada y FOX mil 400 millones.
Sería la primera vez en los últimos 62 años que no se sube, sino que se baja la cifra pagada por tal motivo.
ESPN y FOX alegan cómo ha descendido el beisbol en la preferencia del público.
Una encuesta de la respetada empresa “Gallup”, acaba de informar que 37 de cada 100 estadounidenses prefieren al fútbol americano sobre todo otro deporte; igualmente, tiene el segundo lugar el basquetbol, con un 11%; las Grandes Ligas ocupan el tercer puesto, pero apenas con el 9%; y el fútbol soccer está muy cerca con un 7%.
Ahora, a fines de este año se jugará El Mundial de Fútbol Soccer, por lo que se espera este deporte sobrepase al beisbol y se quede por esas alturas, lo que llevará a MLB al último lugar de este grupo.
Es lógico el descenso del beisbol, por lo mal que ha sido tratado como espectáculo. Y lo peor que siguen tratándolo.
Tras 50 años de apayasado beisbol en la Americana, echarán a perder también la Nacional, con el bateador designado.
Si pasan empatados del noveno inning, aplican la Regla contra los innings extras, con el corredor de regalo en segunda al comenzar cada entrada.
Todo lanzador está obligado a enfrentar no menos de tres bateadores, lo que mata la estrategia de zurdos frente a zurdos y derechos frente a derechos.
Chequear los videos de jugadas, toma 10 o más minutos cada una, y además, eso elimina las espectaculares escenas de protestas de mánagers, coaches y peloteros.
No quiero seguir revisando tales asquerosidades contra el beisbol, pero les recuerdo que están en pruebas máquinas para eliminar a los umpires.
