Coral Gables, Florida (VIP WIRE) – Hoy, como todos los miércoles, es Día del Correo. ¿Me informaste desde dónde escribes?.
Gracienaldo Abreu B. de Culiacán, pregunta…: “¿Por qué, según leo, si antes los juegos de nueve innings y hasta de más, duraban alrededor de dos horas, ahora se prolongan hasta por más de cuatro horas?”.
Amigo Chenal…: Simple. Antes no necesitaban televisar tres o cuatro minutos de comerciales de televisión cada tres outs; antes los peloteros corrían al máximo para entrar y para salir del terreno después de cada tres outs; los bateadores de antes no se salían del home después de cada lanzamiento, para aparecer así laaaargo tiempo en close ups televisados para satisfacer sus egos.
Douglas Martínez, de Guatire, opina…: “Leí su columna del siete de febrero, y de verdad que es vergonzoso lo de esta generación de periodistas, quienes no investigan, no leen, no estudian. Más tristeza da ese periodista que anda escribiendo estupideces, comparando a Omar Vizquel con Luis Aparicio. Es una Pandilla de ignorantes”.
Amigo Doug…: No es periodista, nunca ha escrito nada, es estudiante de derecho fracasado, que habla por radio y por televisión.

Amigo Lucho…: Hay dos lanzadores con efectividad 0.00, pero Tim Jones, de los Piratas en 1977, solo lanzó 10 innings y ganó, 1-0; el otro, John Dahengard, de los Bravos de Boston en 1943, tiró juego completo en su primera aparición en las Mayores, más dos innings en par de relevos, y en esos 11 innings no le hicieron carrera alguna. Se les reconoce la efectividad, desde luego, pero no como record, por el número de innings.

Amigo Rubo…: Las informaciones acerca de Gibson dicen que sacó “más de 800” jonrones en su vida. Además de las Ligas Negras, jugó en todo el Caribe y en México. A Venezuela fue con el equipo de las Ligas Negras y más tarde con el Centauros de Caracas. Allá lo llamábamos Joshúa.
