Amiga AnaRé…: Tengo lindos recuerdos de tu abuelo, Juan Esteban Vargas, a quien todos llamábamos Tetelo. Cuando yo era aún un niño, jugó en Caracas en el center field, con el equipo Vargas. Era espectacular a la defensiva. El narrador venezolano Pacho Pepe Cróquer, dijo por radio durante un juego…: “Tetelo podría jugar cómodamente, las tres posiciones del outfield a la vez. Así es de rápido”.
Por supuesto, robando bases era un espectáculo. Lo ví una tarde robarse en tres lanzamientos consecutivos, segunda, tercera y home. Puedes estar feliz, tu abuelo fue gran figura en su profesión y muy querido.
