AARP Presents the 25th Annual International Tropical Music Festival LIVE at the Coca Cola Music Hall

SAN JUAN, PR — March 30, 2021 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — Joseph Paniagua Productions in association with Keep in Touch Productions and 21 Events, announced The 25th International Tropical Music Festival LIVE at the Coca Cola Music Hall in San Juan Puerto Rico on the 29th and 30th of April, 2022, presented by AARP Puerto Rico.
The 25th Annual Tropical Music Festival celebrates the vast Latino musical history by presenting TOP SALSA LEGENDS LIVE in Puerto Rico Los Van Van of Cuba, Grupo Niche of Colombia, La Sonora Ponceña of Puerto Rico, Bobby Valentin of Puerto Rico, Havana D ’Primera of Cuba, Puerto Rican Power of Puerto Rico and the new young Star Josimar y su Yambú of Perú.
“Salsa music is one of the favorites of the 50+ community and all generations, and we invite people of all ages to attend this unique ensemble of bands never seen before in Puerto Rico. In AARP we always want to break age barriers and that’s precisely what our music does by uniting folks of all ages. We also help people navigate ageless realities by promoting financial well-being, health, how to contribute to society and communities, how to fully enjoy life, and therefore we are excited to be part of this special entertainment experience” stated José Acarón, State Director of AARP Puerto Rico.
Top legendary salsa bands and performers have confirmed their performance at this Historic event that includes two offers: Saturday, April 30th, Live at the Coca Cola Music Hall and the Pre-Party, Friday, April 29th, 2022 at the Marriott Hotel in the Condado. Over 400 rooms have been confirmed by guests traveling to Puerto Rico staying at the Caribe Hilton Hotel and other hotels locally.

The venue of the event is The Coca-Cola Music Hall, a state-of-the-art venue located in the DISTRITO T-Mobile, a major newly developed breathtaking entertainment hub that includes two live music venues, an outdoor plaza with a performing stage, restaurants and lounges that integrate technology to create emotional connections and revolutionizes the way people have fun to enhance the Puerto Rico experience.
The event is Co-Sponsored by Puerto Rico Tourism Company and Gasolina.

Confirmed Performers
La Sonora Ponceña “The Ponce Sound” one of Salsas longest running bands; Formed in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1954 by Enrique “Quique Lucca” and Antonio Santaella, Sonora has recorded thirty-two albums and still going strong, now directed by Don Quique’s son Pianist Papo Lucca.
Los Van Van is Cuba’s most famous dance music orchestra formed on December 4, 1969, by bassist Juan Formell. The legendary group became known for the particular sound they created, “Songo,” becoming the most popular band on the island, touring the world and winning awards with their unique sound and on-stage performance style, always adapting and innovating, always reflecting Cuban everyday themes and popular culture
Grupo Niche, founded in 198 by Jairo Varela and Alexis Lozano in Cali Colombia, enjoying great popularity throughout Latin America and the US. Varela remained with the group until his death in 2012. Legendary Alexis Lozano, trombone player and arranger later left to form Orquesta Guayacán. It also included Nicolas Cristancho, on the piano; Francisco Garcia, on the bass; Luis Pacheco, on the congas; as well as vocalists Jorge Bazán and Hector Viveros.
Bobby Valentin, Bassist, and trumpeter, from Puerto Rico, contributed greatly to the Fania All-Stars during the '70s as their principal arranger and recorded numerous solo albums during the period. In 1965, the then 23-year-old formed his own band and began recording with the Fania Record label. He would continue to record a total of nine albums with Fania (his very first album, “Ritmo Pa’ Goza, El Mensajero” was edited by Fonseca Records). In 1975, Bobby started his own records label, and released his debut double-album “Va a la Cárcel “.
Puerto Rican Power was formed by bassist Jesús Castro in the early ’70s, later granting its leadership to trumpet player Luisito Ayala. In 1983 singer Tito Rojas joined the band, commencing a new stage in the Puerto Rican salsa landscape Puerto Rican Power recorded Tito Rojas “Con Más Poder”, and “Con Todo El Poder” released in 1992 featuring the hit single “A Dónde Irás.” In the late ’90s,
Josimar y su Yambú is a Peruvian Salsa orchestra established in 2011, led by Josimar Fidel, strongly influenced by salsa, although his style varied over time having belonged to groups such as Caribeños de Guadalupe, Mangú, Grupo 5, and La Novel with musical genres such as Cumbia, and Bachata.
