Hyundai debe retirar miles de vehículos y pide a sus propietarios que no los estacionen en sus casas

MIAMI, FL — 23 de marzo de 2023 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — Según los informes de retiro presentados a la Administración Nacional de Seguridad en las Carreteras de EE. UU. el fabricante de automóviles coreano, Hyundai, recomendó a los propietarios de 571,467 SUV's y camionetas de sus modelos, que se estacionen afuera y lejos de las estructuras porque los vehículos podrían representar un riesgo de incendio.
El fabricante de automóviles coreano dijo que los vehículos retirados del mercado podrían estar equipados con un enganche de remolque defectuoso, que puede absorber agua y experimentar un cortocircuito eléctrico.
Esto puede aumentar el riesgo de incendio, según los informes de la NHTSA. Un total de 567.912 vehículos Hyundai se vieron afectados.
Los vehículos afectados son los años modelo Santa Cruz del 2022 al 2023, Santa Fe del 2019 al 2023, Santa Fe Híbrido del 2021 al 2023, y el Santa Fe Plug-in Híbrido del 2022 al 2023.
Hasta que se complete la reparación del retiro gratuito, los propietarios deben continuar estacionando sus vehículos al aire libre y lejos de otros vehículos o edificios, incluso si el vehículo está apagado.
Un cortocircuito eléctrico podría provocar un incendio en el módulo del arnés del enganche de remolque.
