NASH kNOWledge Announces Addition of Latino Outreach Coordinator

PITTSBURGH, PA — 30 de mayo de 2024 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — NASH kNOWledge is pleased to announce that Maria Hernandez joins the team as Latino Outreach Coordinator to make an even greater impact in the Latino community. NASH kNOWledge continues to prioritize its focus on education and awareness of fatty liver disease in the Latino community. This new hire reinforces the organization’s commitment to this community. Many studies indicate that Latinos are at a higher risk for fatty liver disease, some stating that nearly half of Latinos (48%) who live in the United States have a fatty liver.
NASH kNOWledge has numerous tools and resources in Spanish, including a Spanish-language website (www.higadograso.org), a Spanish language liver disease support group on Zoom, participates in Latino events and health fairs, and collaborates with many Latino-focused organizations. Ms. Hernandez will help the organization further understand the needs, gaps and challenges of the community. She will engage with the community directly and work with them to provide solutions, increase screening opportunities and help identify and solve barriers to care.
Ms. Hernandez is a seasoned marketing professional with over 15 years of experience. Hailing from Venezuela, she brings a rich cultural perspective and a wealth of expertise to the NASH kNOWledge team. Passionate about her work, she thrives on engaging with her community and making a positive impact through various initiatives and events, such as the Venezuelans in Pittsburgh group and the World Apostolate of the Virgin of Coromoto in Pittsburgh.
A loving wife and devoted mother to her daughter, Ms. Hernandez values her family above all. She enjoys learning new things, exploring nature, and expressing her creativity through painting. Her enthusiasm for continuous growth and her multifaceted interests makes her an invaluable member of the NASH kNOWledge team.
