Los Angeles is a city rich in diversity and culture with people from all walks of life. The Spanish language is embedded into the heart of the city and The Moth hopes to encourage Los Angeles’ Spanish-speaking storytellers to share their tales this Wednesday. The theme of the night’s event will be “Cocinas” or kitchens. “We ask that those that wish to attend and share their stories prepare a five-minute narrative of a true story about the heart of every home- the kitchen. The one that smells like cupcakes just out of the oven, dulce de leche, or fried malanga. Stovetop disasters or microwave splendors. The chef's secret...and family secrets. The busiest room in the party. Where everyone washes her plate.... and where what doesn't kill, makes you fat.”, explains SLAM organizers.
Doors open at 7 pm PST at The Bridge Theater at A Place Called Home located at 2901 S. Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are available via The Moth website on sale for $15 or available to purchase at the door.
