If one gathers dozens of children on a field and throws a ball at them, surely in seconds they will be playing soccer, baseball or anything else, even something that they improvise.
The ball serves as inspiration for some game. Either a kick is applied, a stick is found and used as a bat to hit it, or it is sought where, or whom to throw the ball at.
It is rare, a child who has never had a ball. Perhaps it is also difficult to find an adult who does not have one.
But who invented the ball?
It is possible that it was the same inventor of fire or the wheel.
In any case, does it really matter?

Cuándo Y Quién Inventó La Pelota

Coral Gables, Florida (VIP-WIRE) – SÍ, sí, el juego de pelota, y el beisbol, no lo inventó nadie. Surgió de ritos religiosos que, hace más de cinco mil años, los faraones egipcios ofrecían al Dios Osiris, para rogarle por fertilidad en las mujeres y en el campo.
O sea, se sabe que el beisbol no fue inventado por persona alguna, aún cuando en 1845, los Knickerbockers de Nueva York, sí inventaron las Reglas tomando como base las del cricket y el rounders.
Ahora, ¿Quién inventó o cómo nació la pelota, no la de beisbol solamente, sino la pelota o las pelotas con las cuales jugamos todos alguna vez?
Nadie lo sabe. Sin embargo, cuán útil y divertida es la pelota. Con la pelota juegan los niños sin saber qué juegan.
En el “hace tanto tiempo que es incontable”, se inventaron la rueda y el fuego, lo que cambió a la humanidad, igual que ahora la tecnología moderna con la computación y los celulares a la cabeza, están cambiando otra vez nuestro mundo.
Pero, ¿no lo cambió todo la pelota también alguna vez?… Creo que sí.
Con pelotas u objetos redondos, se juegan el beisbol, fútbol soccer, básquetbol, voleibol, tenis, tenis de mesa (ping pong), golf, cricket, rounders, polo, fútbol americano, rugby, billar, bolas criollas, kimball, lanzamiento de la bala, metras (canicas), jai alai, padel, balonmano, bowling, waterpolo.
Si uno reúne a docenas de niños en un terreno y se les tira una pelota, o un balón, que es lo mismo, seguro que en segundos estarán jugando soccer, beisbol o cualquier otra cosa, incluso algo que ellos improvisen.
La pelota o el balón inspiran el juego. O se aplica una patada, se busca un palo y se da un batazo, o se busca a dónde, o a quién tirarle el asunto.
Es raro el niño que nunca ha tenido una pelota. Quizá también es difícil encontrar a un adulto que no la tenga.
Pero, ¿quién inventó la pelota?
Es posible que el mismo inventor del fuego o de la rueda.
En todo caso, ¿qué importa?
Dejemos que este mundo, el cual por cierto tiene forma de pelota, siga disfrutando con tantas fórmulas para hacer rodar lo rodable.
Regálale una pelota a un niño y él te recordará siempre con gratitud y con amor.
Ni una bandeja cargada de helados, ni una paila de jalea de mangos recibe una criatura con más euforia que una pelota o un balón.
¡Qué viva la redondez del mundo y que no dejen de ser redondas las pelotas!
