My dearest fans:
I am the founder of the Mets. And I am writing to you because it seems that this year, our guys will be as miraculous, as amazing, as amazing!, as those from the beginning, who in just eight years, in 1969, won the World Series against the Orioles in five games.
Now, at the end of a poor 2025 season, we are entering the postseason, still through the back door, but with the spirit necessary to win even the World Series. I mean, we are crawling, but with special spirit.
This weekend we will play three games in Miami, where we have many enthusiastic fans.
Well, all the teams have thousands of fans in Miami, except the Marlins, because they have been victims of Jeffrey Loria, better known as The Baseball Ripper.
We’ll win these three times and leave Florida in the standings. The recovery these days tells me that the best is yet to come.
The fact is that our team’s history is filled with unexpected events. Let me tell you:
I was a fan and shareholder of the New York Giants, but when they moved to San Francisco in 1958, I felt terrible, so I sold my shares. New York was left with only the Yankees, as the Dodgers had left for Los Angeles.
One of my economic advisors told me then: “You pay so much in taxes because you have a lot of capital, at idle, without creating jobs. Try to get a Major League franchise, which, as a new team, will be a loser at first and will employ more than 500 people, starting with players, coaches, managers, scouts, and stadium staff.”
Good idea. I dedicated myself to getting a National League franchise for New York.
They finally granted it to me, and so in 1962, the Mets were born. They had a less-than-stellar roster, so yes, they were losers, but Shea Stadium was packed, and I was paid very well from broadcasting rights, stadium advertising, and souvenir sales. In other words, I made a lot of money. I still paid high taxes, but I was happy, being the owner of a team and having employed so many people.
The Mets have been amazing all along!

Mis queridos seguidores de siempre:
Soy la fundadora de los Mets. Y les escribo porque parece que este año, nuestros muchachos serán tan milagrosos, tan asombrosos, ¡Amazing!, como aquellos del comienzo, los cuales en solo ocho años, en 1969, les ganaron la Serie Mundial a los Orioles, en cinco juegos.
Ahora, al final de una mala campaña en este 2025, estamos penetrando a la postemporada, aún por la traspuerta, pero con el espíritu necesario para ganar hasta la Serie Mundial. Es decir, estamos gateando, pero con ánimos especiales.
Este fin de semana jugaremos tres veces en Miami, donde tenemos muchos seguidores entusiastas.
Bueno, todos los equipos tienen millares de fanáticos en Miami, menos los Marlins, porque han sido víctimas de Jeffrey Loria, más conocido como El Destripador del Beisbol.
Ganaremos estas tres veces y saldremos de Florida clasificados. La recuperación en estos días, me anuncia que lo mejor está por venir.
Es que la historia de nuestro equipo está recargada de hechos inesperados. Les cuento:
Yo era fanática y accionista de los Gigantes de Nueva York, pero cuando se mudaron a San Francisco, en 1958, me sentí muy mal, por lo que vendí mis acciones. Nueva York se quedaba solamente con los Yankees, ya que los Dodgers se fueron a Los Ángeles.
Uno de mis consejeros económicos me dijo entonces:
“Usted paga demasiados Impuestos, porque tiene un capital muy grande, ocioso, sin producir puestos de trabajo. Trate de conseguir una franquicia de Grandes Ligas, que como equipo nuevo será perdedor al comienzo y dará trabajo a más de 500 personas, comenzando por peloteros, coaches, mánagers, scouts y personal para atender en el estadio”.
Buena la idea. Me dediqué a conseguir una franquicia de la Liga Nacional, para Nueva York.
Finalmente me la concedieron, por lo que en 1962, nacieron los Mets, con un roster nada bueno, por lo que sí, eran perdedores, pero Shea Stadium se lo pasaba lleno y me pagaban muy bien por los derechos de transmisión, anuncios en el estadio y ventas de souvenirs. Es decir ganaba mucho dinero. Seguí pagando altos impuestos, pero me sentía feliz, por propietaria de un equipo y por haber dado trabajo a tanta gente.
¡Los Mets han sido asombrosos todo el tiempo!
