Yes, in my opinion, you deserve the title of illustrious. Not only for your 22 years of successful pitching in the Major Leagues, but because you know how to live your life the way it should be lived, just for yourself and your loved ones, without worrying about whether others approve or not.
I think it’s good that you’re retiring, but baseball will miss you dearly. Your record, 266-159, 3.33 ERA, with 3,554 strikeouts, is among the best. And, as your wife, the stunning model Kate Upton, says, “You look great on the mound, elegant, stately, divine.”
And at 43 years old!
Well, what can I say, I pitched until I was 59, in 1965… And they say that wasn’t my age, but 63, because they legalized my birth, registered me, four years after I was born.
I pitched in the Negro Leagues and then in the Major Leagues. I loved playing baseball, it completely satisfied me, and besides, I got paid for it.
And they helped me write my autobiography, titled, Maybe I’ll Pitch Forever. And they said things about me like: “One of the most dominant and legendary pitchers in history.”
Well, Justin, if you’re tremendous in baseball, in your not-so-private life you’re a champion. Not only did you marry that beautiful woman, Kate Upton, who has given you two children, but you and she know how to live life to the fullest.
The best example of this was the photos of the two of you naked, which went viral, while you and Kate, instead of protesting, were laughing your heads off. And ultimately, nobody cared that you were displaying your most intimate moments to thousands of people.
You met Kate in 2014, and immediately photos of you both in your birthday suits were seen on five continents.
You got engaged in 2016 and married on November 4, 2017, two days after the Astros won the World Series against the Dodgers in seven games.
My friend Justin: We are unfair to ourselves. We are horrified if a man and a woman pose naked and let everyone see them like that. But we don’t care at all if, in the middle of the street, both naked, a dog mounts another dog, or on a farm in full view of everyone, both naked, a bull mounts a cow.
Animals go about happily naked because they can’t afford clothes. Clothes were invented for us because we could provide a good living for fashion designers, seamstresses, and their assistants.

Bueno, y ¿qué voy a decir yo, que lancé hasta los 59 años, en 1965?… Y dicen que esa no era mi edad, sino 63, porque me legalizaron, me presentaron, cuatro años después de nacido.

El mejor ejemplo ha sido el de las fotografías de ustedes dos desnudos, que le dieron la vuelta al mundo, mientras Kate y tú, en vez de protestar estaban muertos de la risa. Y finalmente, a nadie le importó que exhibieran para miles de personas lo más íntimo de la intimidad.
Conociste a Kate en 2014 e inmediatamente se vieron en cinco continentes las fotos de ambos como Dios los trajo a este mundo.
Se comprometieron en 2016 y se casaron el cuatro de noviembre de 2017, dos días después de ganar la Serie Mundial a los Dodgers con los Astros, en siete juegos.
Amigo Justin: Somos injustos con nosotros mismos. Nos horrorizamos si un señor y una señora se retratan desnudos y dejan que todo el mundo los vea así. Pero nada nos importa si en plena calle, ambos desnudos, un perro monta a una perra, o en una finca a la vista de todos, ambos desnudos, un toro monta a una vaca.
Los animales andan felices desnudos, porque no pueden comprar ropas. A nosotros nos inventaron las ropas, porque podíamos darle cómo vivir bien a modistos, costureras y adjuntos.
