NEW YORK, NY — Saturday, January 9, 2027.

Circle that date now and plan ahead.

On the second Saturday of 2027, January 9, the entire island of Puerto Rico has to show out, represent and celebrate the legacy of an icon, the pride of Puerto Rico and queen of New York as Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano takes one last walk to the ring.

The 38-year-old of Carolina, Puerto Rico, raised in Brooklyn, New York, a seven-division and undisputed World Champion known as “The MOAT”—the most impactful women’s fighter in the sport, most viewed, most winningest, The Most of All-Time—could have chosen any arena/venue in the world for her final professional fight, but Serrano picked where her heart lies.

In the heart of the island, San Juan, at Coliseo de Puerto Rico, DISTRITO T-Mobile, which was announced by Most Valuable Promotions and Serrano (50-4-1, 32 KOs)—who will be defending her unified WBO and WBA featherweight world titles against Australia’s #4 WBA contender Skye Falzon (12-2, 7 KOs)—towards the end of last month.

An announcement starting off with three words, “The Last Walk.”

A fitting theme and billing centered around a boxing legend that has continued to go above and beyond in leaving her mark on the sport by creating avenues for female athletes. One here would say much more than many well acclaimed male boxers for their counterparts and the future generation.

Especially in the long run of the sport, opening doors and creating opportunities for those after who choose to step in the ring and attempt to make a name for themselves and their family.

For that and more, Serrano deserves all that is coming her way and while in her native homeland, you just know Most Valuable Promotions, her team and fans can’t wait to dish it all out and give her all they got.

“Amanda Serrano to me is numero uno. You do not want to miss this event,” said MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian during the opening press conference of Serrano-Salzon this past Tuesday afternoon in San Juan as “The Last Walk” on Saturday, January 9, 2027 will be streamed live on DAZN, the global home of boxing. “Back when MVP was just an idea and a promise to put fighters first, Amanda was the first athlete to believe in me and my partner Jake Paul. She entrusted us with her career and she convinced us to go all in on women’s boxing.

Since she’s met us, she’s added more belts. She’s become the first and only male or female undisputed champion in the history of Puerto Rico. She’s fought for equality and choice for women in the sport of boxing, including giving up her WBC belt to take a stand for three-minute rounds. She’s used her platform to push the next generation of male and female Puerto Rican boxers. Amanda’s dedication and sacrifice, her love for the sport of boxing, and her desire to make this island proud, coupled with the leadership of her trainer, her coach, her brother-in-law, her manager, Jordan Maldonado, and the inspiration of her world champion sister, Cindy Serrano, have resulted in a Hall of Fame career that is approaching 18 years.”

Boxing will not be the same once those gloves do get hung up by Serrano this coming January, however when a champion in and out of the ring of her status knows when it’s time, it’s that time.

“You know when it’s time. I enjoyed it every time I fought, every time I get to go into that ring, I enjoy it. But I think it’s time,” she said, thanking her fans for helping and being there with her every step of the way.

“You guys helped me get to where I’m at right now, and this is our story. Not just my story, not just my journey. It’s our journey. So, I would love for you guys to come and celebrate this night with us. It’s going to be a beautiful event.”

A beautiful resume from top to bottom, a long list of accolades for Serrano yet what she wants people to remember her as most at the end is “a game changer” that gave it all she had each time she took that walk in the ring.

“Every time I fall, every time I train, I just left everything in the ring,” Serrano said. “I’m going to miss you guys screaming my name, cheering for me. I think that’s going to be the hardest part: not being able to walk into an arena and have people cheer for me and me performing for you guys.”

As the main event and headline of “The Last Walk,” performing one final time, it was only right for Serrano to do so in her native homeland, where her life had started on October 9, 1988.

“Well, it means everything. I always knew that my last fight, my last step, would be here in Puerto Rico,” said Serrano of the overwhelming support from all of Puerto Rico. “You guys have been with me from the very beginning, supporting me, loving me, and I’ve been fighting for you guys. I bring my flag with me. It’s in my heart, and I’m always with you, and I fight for you, and I just want you guys to celebrate my long journey. It’s going to be a great night, January 9th.”

What Australia’s No. 4 ranked WBA contender Skye Falzon said

“Look, to be honest, I never thought that I’d get a call-up to fight Amanda Serrano. I watch her. I’m a fan of hers. She is the best, and that’s just the way it is. To get a call-up to fight her was a dream come true. I actually cried about it. It’s been amazing. The opportunity is something I’m going to grab hold of, and I just can’t wait. I’m not here just to take part in Amanda’s history. I’m here to try to write my own. I wouldn’t be a fighter if I didn’t believe I could win.”
