PHILADELPHIA, PA — BACK, BACK, BACK, BACK, BACK, GONE!

Major League Baseball’s 2026 Home Run Derby, scheduled for tomorrow night in the City of Brotherly Love, is just around the corner with all the action streamed live on Netflix—8:00 p.m. ET start time with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

A first of its kind for Netflix and in regards to the Derby, a flash into the past as this year’s event of the summer focuses on swinging for the long ball rather than previous HR Derby formats of participants relying on a clock/pitch limit which impacted their respective flow at the plate while also causing fan outrage on social media.

Those rules such as a five/four/three minute clock, 40 pitch limit, etc., were introduced by the league over the past decade with the goal of speeding up the overall competition time, however for Monday’s HR Derby in Philadelphia, MLB opted to cater more to the fans and what they genuinely enjoy watching.

So with that said, here are some of rules to know of ahead of the 2026 Home Run Derby at Citizens Bank Park:

  • Participants will get 20 swings in Round 1, 15 in Round 2 and 15 in the final round
  • If you homer on your last swing in any round, you keep going until you don’t homer
  • There is no bonus round.
  • There is no bracket in the first round

Now, let’s get to the more important details. The field of eight at The Bank.

Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays (28), Willson Contreras of the Boston Red Sox (20), Ben Rice of the New York Yankees (29), Munetaka Murakami of the Chicago White Sox (20), Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals (22), Jac Caglianone of the Kansas City Royals (15) and to round out the final two—a pair of sluggers who Philadelphia loves and knows of all too well—Bryce Harper (20) and Kyle Schwarber (32) of the Phillies.

A stacked field from top to bottom that includes seven participants who have slugged 20 or more home runs this season ahead of the All-Star break. Though once the Derby starts up, you can forget about those statistics.

A word of advice? Go with the flow on your pick(s), just like each Derby participant will come Monday night in Philly as they step in the batter’s box.
