EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY — The 2026 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner. As the Beautiful Game unfolds across North America, fans from nations across the world will be on the edge of their collective seats as a plethora of the world’s greatest young prospects are given the freedom to show what they are capable of.

Among these potential game-changers are emerging young talents from the global Latino community. These athletes will look to take center stage and grab the spotlight of the world’s biggest stage.

Gilberto Mora (Mexico): The Teenage Visionary

Nico Paz (Argentina): A New Creative Force

With so much hype surrounding the Argentina national team and its young stars ahead of the tournament, one man who could play a big role in the team’s attack alongside Lionel Messi is 21-year-old Nico Paz. Although still young, Paz has already gained a lot of experience in high-level football.

His ability to shoot from long range is one of his main threats. Opposing teams will need to be wary of him being left unmarked in areas of the field from which he can launch long shots into the penalty area, because he has a left foot more than capable of hitting the target.

Paz will also bring great energy to the Argentina attack; he’s keen to take risks and get forward as much as possible in order to look to create for his teammates in a number of different ways, which could take opponents by surprise throughout the World Cup.

Joel Ordóñez (Ecuador): The Defensive Anchor

Most World Cups are won by teams that have some very attacking players in their squad but defensive solidity is just as important. That’s an area where 22-year-old center back Joel Ordóñez could be the answer for Ecuador as he’s currently plying his trade in European football.

Ordóñez possesses all the qualities of a modern center-back. He is a tall, strong player who controls the ball extremely well and will shine at the World Cup for Ecuador. His decisions on the pitch are always taken calmly and with great awareness.

His strong tackling and excellent distribution of the ball are further elements which complete the defensive profile of the young Ecuadorian.

Kendry Páez (Ecuador): Breaking Through Defenses
