The Gigantes del Cibao will represent their homeland, Dominican Republic in the upcoming Caribbean Series which begins next week. The Gigantes del Cibao won their second Dominican League championship and the first in seven years defeating the Estrellas Orientales in Game 5 of the Dominican Winter League championship series on Saturday, 8-3.
The Estrellas had won the opener in the best-of-seven series, however, the Gigantes rallied to win four straight to win Dominican League title.
