INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The 2026 WNBA Playoffs are officially set and eight teams remain in the race for a championship.
After its historic 30th regular season that saw playoff positioning come down to the final stretch of games, the WNBA’s postseason will tip off this Sunday, September 27.

The Minnesota Lynx (33-11) secured the No. 1 seed, followed by the Golden State Valkyries (32-12), Las Vegas Aces (31-13) and Atlanta Dream (30-14), giving each of the top four teams home court advantage in the opening round.
Minnesota will begin its championship run against the No. 8 New York Liberty (26-18). The Lynx enter the postseason at the top of the league, while New York will have an opportunity to make noise from the final playoff spot.
Golden State will face the Dallas Wings (27-17) in the No. 2 versus No. 7 matchup. The Valkyries finished the regular season near the top of the standings, while Dallas enters the postseason after a strong year of its own.

One of the most intriguing first round matchups will feature the No. 3 Aces (31-13) against the No. 6 Indiana Fever (28-16). Las Vegas enters the postseason led by A’ja Wilson and a roster with plenty of playoff experience, while Caitlin Clark and Indiana will look to make another postseason run after securing its third consecutive playoff appearance.
The final matchup features the No. 4 Dream against the No. 5 Mystics (28-16). Atlanta earned home court advantage late in the season, as Washington makes its return to the playoffs for the first time in three years.

- No. 4 Atlanta Dream (30-14) vs. No. 5 Washington Mystics (28-16)
The first round will be played as a best of three series, with the higher seeded team hosting Games 1 and 3, if necessary. The winners will advance to the best of five semifinals beginning Sunday, October 4, followed by the WNBA Finals beginning Saturday, October 17.
