NEW YORK, NY — Julio Pabón, President of Latino Sports, has been formally honored by Congressman Ritchie Torres, who recognized Pabón’s longstanding service and contributions to New York, Puerto Rico, and the Bronx by reading his name into the Congressional Record of the United States Congress.
The recognition acknowledges Pabón’s decades of leadership, advocacy, and commitment to elevating Latino voices in sports, media, and community engagement. Having one’s name entered into the Congressional Record is a lasting national acknowledgment and part of the permanent legislative history of the United States.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to Congressman Torres for this recognition,” said Pabón. “This acknowledgment reflects the collective work we have done to serve our communities and strengthen the cultural and civic ties between New York and Puerto Rico.”
The honor underscores Pabón’s impact across generations and communities, particularly in the Bronx, where his work has helped amplify Latino excellence on and off the field.

Yessss! So proud of you and you have been a mentor to so many young Latinos and Latinas – in my household already going on two generations. You deserve recognition in the Congressional record and so much more.
