Mikaela Mayer, Xander Zayas, and Bruce Carrington Inspire Local NYC Youth Ahead of Friday’s ESPN-Televised Tripleheader

NEW YORK, NY — Former unified world champion Mikaela Mayer, Puerto Rican sensation Xander Zayas, and unbeaten contender Bruce Carrington made a special visit to Victory Boxing Club in New York City.

The fighters spent time with local youth from the Children’s Village Boxing Program, a partner of The Garden of Dreams Foundation. The nonprofit, which works closely with the MSG Family of Companies, is dedicated to providing life-changing opportunities for young people in need.

Mayer, Zayas and Carrington led the teens through ring drills, heavy bag workouts, and speed bag exercises. They also signed autographs, took photos, and shared stories from their respective pro journeys. As a special treat, each youth received a free ticket to Friday’s event.

Mayer (19-2, 5 KOs) will challenge Sandy Ryan (7-1-1, 3 KOs) for the WBO welterweight world title in the 10-round main event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Zayas (19-0, 12 KOs) will face Mexican contender Damian Sosa (25-2, 12 KOs) in the 10-round junior middleweight co-feature, and Carrington (12-0, 8 KOs) will open the ESPN-televised tripleheader in a 10-round featherweight clash against Sulaiman Segawa (17-4-1, 6 KOs).

Ryan-Mayer, Zayas-Sosa, and Carrington-Segawa will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
