Championship Victory and Team Composition
Puerto Rico’s National Women’s Table Tennis Team concluded their participation in the Pan American Championship on Sunday afternoon with a remarkable victory, clinching the championship title in the team event by defeating the United States. The team, consisting of Adriana Díaz, her sister Fabiola Díaz, Alondra Rodríguez, and Brianna Burgos, added another gold medal to their achievements in the tournament with a hard-fought 3-1 win over the United States.
Individual and Team Achievements
Adriana Díaz continues to build on her impressive career, having recently claimed her sixth Pan American championship title at this tournament. In addition to these accolades, she has earned Pan American titles on four other occasions, including two at the Pan American Games and two at the Pan American Cups.
Alongside their team success, the Puerto Rican Women’s squad also secured qualification for the World Team Championship, scheduled to take place in London, England, from April 28 to May 10, 2026.
Puerto Rico’s Men’s Table Tennis Team also earned their ticket to the event by ranking among the top six teams on the continent.

Match Highlights Against the United States
The decisive 3-1 victory over the United States featured standout performances in singles matches. Adriana Díaz earned two wins, defeating Sally Moyland 3-1 and Lily Zhang 3-2. Brianna Burgos contributed the third point with a 3-2 victory over Jessica Reyes. The United States secured one point with Lily Zhang’s 3-1 win over Alondra Rodríguez in the second match.
In her matches, Adriana Díaz prevailed over Moyland with scores of 8-11, 14-12, 11-5, and 12-10. In the gold medal match against Zhang, Díaz emerged victorious with scores of 11-6, 9-11, 11-9, 7-11, and 11-8.

With their Pan American Championship gold medal and qualification for the 2026 World Team Championships in London, the Puerto Rican women’s table tennis team continues to make history and build on their legacy in the sport.
