The column by my admired Radhamés Bonilla, about the final game Escogidos-Licey, is priceless. This is just part of it:
“Emilio Bonifacio. The fiery authentic leader of the Licey.

After the game, Ortiz interviewed by the chronicler Hansel Pujols, spent about twenty minutes, and never spoke about the triumph of his team El Escogido, but only against Emilio Bonifacio, showing himself hurt that Bonifacio supposedly made him lose money in the Classic of Titans, wanting to present himself publicly as a victim of the blue captain.
But, he seems to have shown an insatiable, ambitious and voracious hunger and cult for money. Are we wrong or have we told the truth? Luckily, that did not influence in the end at all, because THE BEST DOES NOT ALWAYS WIN.

La columna de mi admirado Radhamés Bonilla, acerca del juego final Escogidos-Licey, no tiene desperdicio. Ésto es solo parte:
“Emilio Bonifacio. El fogoso líder auténtico del Licey.
“Tal vez la única mancha negra, impulcra e infectada, más negra que la de su autor, y que no distrajo la atención del Licey, fue lo que dijo David Ortiz, contra el líder jugador de ese equipo, Emilio Bonifacio, demostrando que su atrevimiento y desconsideración hacia el otro, no tiene límites, y va más lejos que todos sus históricos “jonrones” que conectó en Grandes Ligas.
Después del juego, Ortiz entrevistado por el cronista Hansel Pujols, se pasó unos veinte minutos, y nunca habló del triunfo de su equipo El Escogido, sino únicamente contra Emilio Bonifacio, mostrándose dolido de que Bonifacio, supuestamente le hizo perder dinero en el Clásico de Titanes, queriendo presentarse públicamente como una víctima del capitán azul.
Mas, parece haber demostrado una insaciable, ambiciosa y voraz hambre y culto por el dinero. ¿Estamos equivocados o hemos dicho la verdad?. Por suerte, eso no influyó al final para nada, porque NO SIEMPRE GANA EL MEJOR.
