Coral Gables, Florida (VIP-WIRE) – Friday to Remember: This year marks a century since Babe Ruth had his worst game. And it was none other than the 1926 World Series against the Cardinals.
Babe stole 123 bases in 239 attempts during his 22 seasons, and four more in World Series games. He wasn’t fast, but he could steal with his skills.
It was the afternoon of October 10th, and in the ninth inning, with two outs, Ruth drew a walk. It meant a tie, as they were losing 3-2. With Babe on first, the cleanup hitter, Bob Meusel, was up next, and Lou Gehrig was batting fifth.
But Ruth attempted to steal. Catcher Bob O’Farrell made a perfect throw to second baseman Rogers Hornsby. Ruth out! The Series was over, and Babe Ruth himself always said that was his worst day in baseball.

Have you seen José Altuve’s training uniform? It would be awful if he wore the same thing during the season. His pants end before his knees, and his socks don’t cover them, so they’re exposed for everyone to see. By the way, his knees are terrible.
Is that elegance, is that gentlemanly conduct, is that respect for the fans and for baseball, is that uniformity?
Well, no. In the photo they sent me from training camp, Altuve is pictured with one player whose uniform is pulled down to his shoes and another whose socks and pants are pulled up to his knees. Three ridiculous ways to “wear a uniform.” What uniformity?
If you’re going to tell me, “That’s baseball these days,” well, I don’t like baseball these days, I hate it, I reject it. Even with the amazing things Altuve does on the field. Because he’s a great player.

Aquella era la tarde del 10 de octubre, y en el noveno inning, con dos outs, Ruth recibió la base por bolas. Significaba el empate, porque perdían 3-2. Con el Babe en primera, tomaba turno el cuarto bate, Bob Meusel y el quinto era Lou Gehrig.
Pero Ruth salió al robo. El catcher, Bob O`Farrell, puso tiro perfecto en el guante del segunda base, Rogers Hornsby. ¡Out Ruth! Terminó la Serie y el mismo Babe dijo siempre que ese fue su peor día en el beisbol.

¿Ya sufrieron cómo se uniforma José Altuve en los entrenamientos? Sería horrible que se vistiera igual en la temporada. El pantalón se le termina antes de llegar a las rodillas y las medias no llegan a cubrir las rodillas, por lo que le quedan a la vista de todos. Por cierto, rodillas horribles.

Si me van a replicar que “eso es el beisbol de ahora, pues, el beisbol de ahora no me gusta, me repugna, lo rechazo. Incluso, con las maravillas que logra Altuve en el terreno. Porque es un gran pelotero.
Y entonces, ¿para qué y por qué hacer tanto el ridículo?
