NEW YORK, NY — The New York Knicks continued their torrid stretch of basketball on Tuesday night, dominating the Washington Wizards 132–101 at Capital One Arena to secure their seventh consecutive victory and cap off a blowout performance that showcased their growing confidence and identity on both ends of the floor.

Playing the first game of a back to back, the Knicks showed no signs of fatigue, racing out to an early double digit lead behind crisp ball movement, strong defensive rotations, and a balanced offensive attack. New York scored 15 points in the opening three minutes and never allowed Washington to find rhythm, finishing the first quarter up 38–22.

The lead only ballooned from there. Despite a brief Wizards push early in the second quarter, the Knicks responded with a decisive run that pushed the advantage to nearly 30 points before halftime. New York entered the break ahead 72–45, tied for its largest halftime lead of the season, and firmly in control.

Karl-Anthony Towns anchored the performance with 19 points and 15 rebounds in just 26 minutes—the Dominican-American’s fourth double-double in five games—currently tied for a league-lead in that category (33) with Atlanta’s Jalen Johnson.

Mikal Bridges continued his stellar play, scoring 23 points on 8-for-10 shooting while adding five assists and two blocks. OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson each chipped in 19 and 21 points, respectively, as seven Knicks finished in double figures.

New York’s depth once again proved to be a decisive advantage. Landry Shamet knocked down four three-pointers off the bench, Ariel Hukporti provided a spark with 12 points in the fourth quarter, and rookie guard Tyler Kolek helped steady the offense with six assists as the Knicks piled up 34 assists on the night.

Defensively, the Knicks were equally sharp, holding Washington to just 40.7 percent shooting and forcing the Wizards into difficult possessions throughout the game. Head coach Mike Brown praised the collective effort afterward, particularly highlighting his star guard’s willingness to do the dirty work.

“I think tonight, coming into the game, he was second in the NBA in charges taken,” Brown said of Brunson. “That little charge you’re talking about—that’s one of our standards. Sacrifices like that, going down that way, especially from your star, it sets the tone.”

Brown also emphasized Brunson’s fearlessness and the team’s overall commitment to physicality and effort, staying “It’s a lot of fun to see, especially when you’re talking about a guy who’s stepping up and putting his body on the line. That’s how you build something.”

While the Knicks did suffer minor injury scares, Mohamed Diawara left the game with an ankle issue and Josh Hart exited after rolling his ankle, Brown noted the importance of staying focused amid a demanding stretch ahead.

“Obviously, Washington’s a young team and the direction they’re going in is what most young teams do at this point in the year,” he said. “But our guys handled business the right way.”

With wins now lined up by decisive margins and momentum fully restored, the Knicks will return home to Madison Square Garden for a high-profile matchup against Denver Wednesday, followed by games against Detroit and Boston. If this performance was any indication, New York is playing its best basketball at exactly the right time.
