LOS ANGELES, CA — Welcome to Los Angeles, the home of champions, sunshine, and movie stars. Dodger Stadium has always had stars both on the field and in the seats. After all, it is Hollywood. They continue to gobble up the top players in the off season and there is no end in sight. Here are some things that will keep them at the top for the next ten years or so.
They have had a winning record over the past 15 years, including five pennants and three World Series Championships. And if not for the Astros’ and Red Sox cheating scandals, they may have won two more. The latest were back-to-back Fall Classic titles in 2024 and 2025, where they showcased the extraordinary talent of their Japanese trio: four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, 2025 World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and 24-year-old Roki Sasaki.

For us in the media, it is sometimes impossible to find a seat or even get credentials to games here because of the overwhelming presence of the Japanese media, and for ownership, that is music to their ears.
Records are being set now for every home game, with crowds exceeding 50,000 almost every game, day or night. For the Guggenheim Baseball Management investors, who purchased the Dodgers in 2012 for $2.15 billion, it has become an incredibly successful business deal.
Merchandise profits in both America and Japan are off the charts: With $1 billion in gross revenue and over $100 Million generated specifically from Japanese marketing and merchandise deals in 2024, with the 2025 championship season surpassing those numbers.

It’s not just jerseys and merchandise; the team is projected to surpass $200 million in annual sponsorship revenue, buoyed by over 20 Japanese brands, highlighting the team’s enormous commercial impact beyond direct sales. Their TV annual revenue averaged roughly $334 million, which will exceed $500 million annually when the deal ends in 2038.
“Just looking forward,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said this week as LA gears up for the 2026 regular season. “There’s going to be distractions, but we just got to keep our blinders on and not worry about who’s to the side of us and who’s chasing us.”

With all that money coming in, it is no wonder that they can go out and get any player they need. Other teams, including the very wealthy Yankees, just can’t compete in any bidding war with this monster organization.
The money is one thing, but as I stated at the top, with the beautiful weather, Hollywood, and championship history, why would any player not want to be in Dodger Blue?
