PHILADELPHIA, PA — Major League Baseball’s 2026 All-Star Weekend delivered far more than just another Midsummer Classic. From the debut of MLBx’s innovative 3-on-3 competition to a celebration of baseball’s impact off the field and the glamour of the All-Star Red Carpet, Philadelphia became the center of the baseball world.

One of the weekend’s biggest surprises came during Sunday’s inaugural MLBx All-Star 3-on-3 event, where former Phillies greats Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victoriano captained teams featuring professional softball stars from the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL).

The fast-paced format combined offense, defense and strategy, creating an authentic and entertaining experience for fans of all ages.

The AUSL athletes proved they belonged on baseball’s biggest stage. Olympic silver medalist Rachel Garcia showcased her trademark competitiveness with Team Victorino, while Oklahoma legend Tiare Jennings displayed her athleticism alongside Rollins. Alyssa Brito brought power and energy to Team Howard, and NiJaree Canady’s electric presence further highlighted the growing partnership between MLB and professional women’s softball.

Their performances reinforced that elite competition transcends leagues and genders while introducing many baseball fans to some of softball’s brightest stars.

Away from the diamond, The Players Alliance Gala celebrated individuals whose influence extends well beyond the game. Howard and Rollins, a pair of Phillies legends and World Series champions, were recognized for their continued commitment to growing baseball in underserved communities and inspiring the next generation of players.

The evening reflected The Players Alliance’s mission of increasing access, opportunity and representation throughout the sport, with current and former players gathering to celebrate baseball’s ability to create meaningful change.

Following Monday night’s Home Run Derby where Jordan Walker of the Cardinals came from behind to beat Kyle Schwarber in the Championship Round, Tuesday’s All-Star Red Carpet transformed Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall into baseball’s runway.

Players arrived with their families and loved ones dressed in custom designer looks while fans lined the streets for a glimpse of the game’s biggest stars before they made their way to Citizens Bank Park.

The celebration blended baseball tradition with modern culture, highlighting personalities as much as performances and giving fans an up-close look at the athletes away from the field.

The festivities culminated Tuesday night at The Bank with the American League defeating the National League 4-0 behind an MVP performance from Cody Bellinger. Yet long before first pitch in front of a sellout crowd of 43,916, All-Star Weekend had already accomplished its goal.

Known as The City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia showcased baseball’s future through the AUSL stars, honored those making a lasting impact on the game through The Players Alliance, and reminded fans that All-Star Week is about far more than one exhibition game—it’s a celebration of the sport’s evolving culture and community.
