PHILADELPHIA, PA — If you were to see John Middleton on the streets of the City of Brotherly Love, one would think he is just another fan of a Philadelphia sports team.
Though the 70-year-old Philadelphia native, a longtime sports fan, is the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of the Phillies, holding a net worth of over $4.3 billion, Middleton fits right in with the fans of Philadelphia as it showed Monday prior to Game 2 of the National League Division Series at Citizens Bank Park—signing autographs, taking photos and handing out baseballs to fans for over an hour and a half (90+ minutes) behind the home dugout located on the first base side while the Phillies and Dodgers took part in each of their respective team’s batting practice and warm up routine on the field.

With the stress of MLB’s Postseason on his mind, hours before the Dodgers put the Phillies on the brink of ending their season by going up 2-0 in the best of five NLDS, and Middleton took the time for each individual, no matter the age, who asked for a ball, autograph or photo with some even providing their input on the current state of the team.
An owner going the extra mile for those who love the organization most.
