Coral Gables, Fla. (VIP WIRE)-The Question of the Week.- 95 years ago today the commissioner, Kenesaw Mountain Landis, committed one of his four great sins. One was kicking Jackie Mitchell out of baseball, the girl who struckout Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in an exhibition game; another, having prohibited the hiring of female players; one more, sponsoring racial discrimination in the Major Leagues. What was the sin of today’s anniversary?
The answer…: On January 27, 1927, Landis reinstated Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker, who had been proven, by letters they signed themselves, to have sold games to bettors. Already in the last year as players, they had experimented as managers. But no one ever hired them again, despite being the stellar bigleaguers they were.

“The Boston Globe” published a lie…: “Everybody loves Big Papi”.
Many of the voters for the Hall of Fame do not want him, since he got only 77.9%, less than three points above the minimum, 75%.
The election this time has been the most absurd in many years.
If we did not vote for Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, Alex Rodríguez and Sammy Sosa, because they used steroids, how, and why vote for David Ortiz, not only also a consumer of the same, not only with pending accounts with justice, but also only designated hitter?.
How, and why vote for that disrespectful person, who considers that whoever did not vote for him “is an idiot?”
Numbers are not everything. But if you look at those of Bonds, Clemens, Schilling, A.Rod and Sammy and compare them to that designated hitter, you’ll know the injustice of 2022.
The group of voters has changed. There are those who vote and have not covered, in the press boxes, the 100 annual Major League games for 10 seasons; and they no longer subject future voters to the preparatory course or the final exam to be approved or failed.
We’re going bad, boys, we’re going bad.
Either we accept ALL applicants of a certain type or we accept none.
Because whatever is good for the duck, it must also be good for the gander.
For the first time in many Julys, this time I will not attend the ceremony in Cooperstown, to show “The Boston Globe” that NO “everybody does not love Big Papi”.

Muchos de los electores para el Hall de la Fama no lo queremos, ya que obtuvo apenas el 77.9%, menos de tres puntos sobre el mínimum, 75%.
La elección de esta vez ha sido la más disparatada en muchos años.
Si no votamos por Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, Alex Rodríguez y Sammy Sosa, porque consumían esterorides, ¿cómo, por qué y para qué votar por David Ortiz, no solo también consumidor de lo mismo, no solo con cuentas pendientes con la justicia, sino también solo bateador designado?.
¿Cómo, por qué y para qué votar por ese irrespetuoso, quien considera que quien no votó por él “es un idiota?”.
Los números no lo son todo. Pero, si examinan los de Bonds, Clemens, Schilling, A.Rod y Sammy y los comparan con los del ese bateador designado, conocerán la injusticia 2022.
Ha cambiado el grupo de electores. Hay quienes votan y no han cubierto, en los palcos de la prensa, los 100 juegos anuales de Grandes Ligas durante 10 temporadas; y ya no someten a los futuros electores al cursillo preparatorio ni al examen final para ser aprobado o reprobado.
Vamos mal, muchachones, vamos mal.
O aceptamos a TODOS los candidatos de cierto tipo o NO aceptamos a ninguno.
Porque cuanto sea bueno para el pato, lo debe ser también para la pata.
Por primera vez en muchos julios, esta vez no asistiré a la ceremonia de Cooperstown, para demostrarle a “The Boston Globe” que NO “everybody loves Big Papi”.
