Stars turn out for ceremonial activities for Games One and Two of the 2025 World Series

Game Two will Feature Alessia Cara and Bebe Rexha as Anthem Singers and the Jonas Brothers in a Mastercard® Supported Special Stand Up To Cancer Performance; First Pitch Ceremonies to Include Blue Jays World Series Champions Joe Carter and Cito Gaston

Major League Baseball today announced the ceremonial & off-field activities for Games One and Two of the 2025 World Series presented by Capital One. The 121st Fall Classic between the National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the American League Champion Toronto Blue Jays begins tonight, Friday, October 24th, at Rogers Centre with LIVE coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes and ESPN Radio in the U.S. The 2025 World Series will also be broadcast on Univision in conjunction with FOX Sports and FOX Deportes. In Canada, Sportsnet TV and Radio and TVA Sports will continue to provide live national coverage of the entire 2025 World Series.

NATIONAL ANTHEMS:

  • Game One – Following their performance with Pharrell Williams, award-winning choir Voices of Fire will sing both the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems. They will perform alongside a local Canadian ensemble during both renditions.
  • Game Two – Award-winning American singer Bebe Rexha, known for her hits Me, Myself, & I and I’m Good,will perform the U.S. National Anthem. Internationally acclaimed GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Alessia Cara, known for singles Scars to Your Beautiful and Here, is scheduled to perform the Canadian National Anthem.

CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCHES: In celebration of the Fall Classic, the following will participate in ceremonial first pitches, including:

  • Game One – Former Toronto Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston, who led the Blue Jays to back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993, will deliver the first pitch for Game One of the World Series.
  • Game Two – Former Toronto Blue Jays Outfielder and First Baseman Joe Carter, five-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series Champion (‘92 & ‘93), will deliver the first pitch for Game Two.

STAND UP TO CANCER MOMENT: MLB, Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) and Mastercard® continue their annual tradition of a poignant in-game SU2C placard moment, this year Mastercard’s SU2C ambassadors, Jonas Brothers, in addition to players, umpires, coaches and fans as they hold up placards with the names of loved ones affected by the disease. Taking place after the fifth inning of Game Two and airing LIVE on FOX, Mastercard and the Jonas Brothers will extend the SU2C moment with a special in-stadium performance of Mastercard’s SU2C campaign anthem, “I Can’t Lose,” in tribute to this meaningful cause. Since 2010, Mastercard has helped raise more than $80 million for Stand Up To Cancer by making it easy for consumers in the United States to turn everyday purchases into meaningful support.

FALL CLASSIC LEGACY EVENTS SUPPORT TORONTO YOUTH: As part of the MLB Together program (MLBTogether.com), a pair of important efforts in the spirit of Community, Philanthropy and Youth Engagement will take place in Toronto prior to Games One and Two of the Fall Classic.

Before Game One, MLB and the Toronto Blue Jays are unveiling plans to support Variety Village with a $50,000 donation to the organization. Variety Village offers a leading inclusive community hub for fitness, recreation, and adaptive sports for those with disabilities.

MLB will celebrate youth baseball and softball at Game Two by inviting over 100 youth who participate in MLB-led community programs around the country. These student-athletes will participate in a special PLAY BALL event on Saturday, October 25th at the Toronto Mets Indoor Training Facility. Later that evening, the youth will be recognized at Rogers Centre during pregame ceremonies and attend the game as guests of Major League Baseball. These youth student-athletes include members of the 2025 Nike RBI World Series championship teams, MLB Youth Academy “Youth of the Year” honorees, Chevrolet’s “MLB Develops MVP” and “PLAY BALL Player of the Month.”

JENNIE FINCH EMPOWERMENT AWARD + ARM & HAMMER CHECK PRESENTATION: The 7thseason of the Jennie Finch Empowerment Award presented by ARM & HAMMER will honor four young women who demonstrated leadership characteristics on and off the softball field. As part of the pregame recognition, representatives from Church & Dwight will commemorate a $40,000 scholarship donation ($10,000 on behalf of each winner) to the following recipients who each participated in MLB-led softball programs:

Jaidy Rodriguez – Perth Amboy (Nike RBI World Series)

Marley Jackson – Alexandria, VA (Softball Elite Development Invitational)

Kourtney Jones-Caldwell – Missouri City, TX (All-Star Jennie Finch Classic)

Jaylene Echeverria – Compton, CA (Breakthrough Series – Softball)

Pitch, Hit & Run Finalists: Forty-six youth baseball and softball athletes will be recognized for being finalists of Pitch, Hit & Run, MLB’s official youth skills competition. The youth, ages 7-14, will compete in the finals at the Rogers Centre on Sunday, October 26th during the World Series travel day.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS GAME BALL DELIVERY: Alumni of two BGC Canada will deliver the Game Ball for Games One and Two. Titobi, 20, from BGC East Scarborough, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada’s 2024/2025 National Youth of the Year, will deliver the ball to the mound for Game One. Ximena, 17, of the Boys & Girls Club of McAllen, will do the honors for Game Two. Titobi is studying at the University of Toronto, majoring in International Relations. Ximena plans to attend the University of Chicago with the ambition to become a Human Rights Attorney and Politician.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY DURING WORLD SERIES: As part of Major League Baseball’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, MLB has ensured that the 2025 World Series incorporates environmentally friendly features and activities. Efforts include:

  • World Series Green Teams will collect recyclables between innings and raise awareness for what fans can do in their everyday lives to be more environmentally conscious.
  • MLB Green is donating $10,000 on behalf of the Toronto Blue Jays to EcoSpark, a local non-profit committed to connecting people to their local natural environment through education, monitoring and stewardship. Operating since 1996, EcoSpark has developed a reputation as a community leader in local engagement, education, citizen science, and collaboration.

SENSORY INCLUSION AT ROGERS CENTRE: Major League Baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays are committed to making the World Series sensory inclusive. In partnership with KultureCity, MLB will provide additional sensory bags throughout the World Series. These sensory bags will be available at all Fan Services locations (on the 100-Level at Sections 123 and 141, on the 200-Level near Sections 212 and 236, and on the 500-Level near Sections 508 and 532). A Sensory Room is also available at Section 212, behind Fan Services. The room is designed to accommodate fans who may be experiencing sensory overload and includes activity panels, bean bag chairs, air walls, and fidget toys among other items to assist fans. KultureCity is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to fighting for inclusion and acceptance of all individuals. KultureCity advocates for those with sensory challenges such as autism and PTSD, among others. KultureCity provides training and equipment to public and private spaces to create an inclusive experience for everyone to fight against social isolation.
