MILWAUKEE, WI — The Los Angeles Dodgers’ quest for a World Series three-peat is full steam ahead yet so is a National League Championship Series rematch against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Yep, they meet again, as last year’s result was a 4-0 LA sweep of Milwaukee to advance to the Fall Classic.

With the Dodgers dismissing the Braves on a 4-1 road win in Game 4 to clinch the NLDS Wednesday—Milwaukee also punched their ticket to the NLCS on the road the same night—popping bottles in the visiting clubhouse after the Brewers beat the Padres 3-1 in NLDS Game 4, which knocked San Diego out and made for this prime NLCS rematch to be set.
Latinos the Spark for LA: Teoscar Hernández, Kiké Hernández, Andy Pages and Edwin Díaz
It was Latino stars Teoscar Hernández, Kiké Hernández, Andy Pages and Edwin Díaz, each sparking Los Angeles and playing major components in the Dodgers’ NLDS victory over Atlanta.
- Teoscar Hernández: 3-16 with 1 HR, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored
- Kiké Hernández: 1-6 with 1 HR, 2 RBI and 1 run scored
- Andy Pages: 4-14 with 2 RBI, 1 run scored and a walk
- Edwin Díaz: 2 saves on 2 opportunities with 1 hit allowed and 3 strikeouts (3 innings)
The four aforementioned names—33, 35, 25, and 32, of Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Puerto Rico, respectively—sent the Braves home packing in Atlanta’s first NLDS appearance since 2023. Meanwhile, the Dodgers, making their seventh straight NLDS appearance, now return to their third consecutive NLCS.

“I think when, as a group, you go through all of these things, you start believing in each other, and you don’t ever believe that there’s a mountain that’s too big to climb,” said October Kiké, earning the nickname for his historic postseason performances.
“And when you have faith in and belief that if you don’t get it done, the guy behind you is gonna get it done, it eases up the pressure factor and things like that.”
Moving and Rolling Along are the Brew Crew
In San Diego, the Brewers put an end to the Padres’ season as 47,712 of Friar Faithful sold out Petco Park once again, but could not do it all for their team in NLDS Game 4 on the field.
The only buzz of the night while the Padres were facing elimination was from a solo shot off the bat of 2020 NL LatinoMVP Fernando Tatis Jr. to tie the contest up 1-1 in the third.

Jackson Chourio and William Contreras: Stars Proving to be Stars for Milwaukee
Twenty two year old Jackson Chourio (2024 NL LatinoMVP Rookie of the Year) made sure that the Brewers would do just enough offensively with a go-ahead RBI single in the fifth to make it 2-1.
The Venezuelan star has been clutch all postseason for Milwaukee—with six RBI in 16 at-bats—including a NLDS Game 2 walk-off single against one of the best closers in the game Mason Miller.

Brewers catcher and fellow Venezuelan William Contreras, 2-for-5 in Game 4—impacting the team’s offense and pitching staff behind the plate all series long—had two solo home runs and six hits total in 16 at-bats (.375 batting average) over this NLDS.
“This guy is, we call him our ‘pitbull,’” said Brewers manager Pat Murphy of Contreras. “We do have to keep him in a cage unfortunately, but he’s an incredible competitor. The intensity that he has and the way he handles that pitching staff, they know he means business and they know he expects a lot.”

Murphy added: “That’s what great catchers do. They connect with their pitchers, and they demand, ‘hey, this is what you’ve got to do.’ He’s that way and he calls the game himself. It’s underrated what this guy does and offensively what he does, of course.”
Manny Machado Robbed of a Moment Once Again
Dominican reliever Abner Uribe, appearing out of the bullpen with a 3-1 lead, kept the Padres off the board later on in the eighth with two strikeouts. During his time on the mound, he was also helped out mightily by center fielder Garrett Mitchell robbing 2022 NL LatinoMVP Manny Machado of a potential game-tying home run at the wall.
Coincidentally, this was the same spot Team USA’s Adam Jones had taken away a home run from the future Cooperstown Hall of Famer in the 2017 World Baseball Classic at Petco Park.
“It’s just unfortunate, man,” Machado said. “Nice play. Should have hit it harder. It burns. It’s pain. This team, we fought all year. We dealt with a lot as a group and overcame a lot.”
And just like that San Diego, making their first NLDS trip since 2024, saw their season end and watched the Brewers, in their second consecutive NLDS appearance, celebrate on to the NLCS.

Looking Ahead to Game 1 of NLCS
There will likely be an historic battle between aces brewing in Game 1 of the NLCS with NL Cy Young Award favorite Jacob Misiorowski (16-5, 1.80 ERA) and the back-to-back AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal (12-7, 2.72 ERA) projected to each take the mound Sunday night, October 11th at American Family Field in Milwaukee (8:08pm ET first pitch).
Is this the year the best regular season team, the Brewers (103-59), can finally take out the big and scary Dodgers (100-62)?
