PONCE, PUERTO RICO — Indiana State baseball is scheduled to open up the 2026 season next weekend in Caguas, Puerto Rico as the Sycamores head south to compete in the Puerto Rico Challenge held over February 13-15 with games in both Caguas and Ponce, Puerto Rico.

For Sycamores’ Sebastian Torres, Jeremy Martinez, and Jorge Cartagena, the games mean just a little bit more. The trio are the latest to compete for the Sycamores from the Commonwealth, joining a storied history of Indiana State players who have hailed from Puerto Rico over their collegiate career.
