Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helps lead Toronto to victory in Game 4 of 2025 World Series

By Eduardo Rosario

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The face of the Blue Jays franchise, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., blasted his seventh home run of the 2025 postseason in Game 4 of the World Series Tuesday night to help lead Toronto over the Dodgers by a final of 6-2.

The World Series is now tied up at 2-2, resulting in a best of three series. Shane Bieber took the win in Game 4, with Shohei Ohtani taking the loss, as much of the blow was brought out from the Dodgers bullpen.

And with Tuesday night’s victory, the Blue Jays have forced the World Series back home to the Rogers Centre in Toronto for a Game 6 and Game 7, if necessary.

Overall, this has been a tightly contested Fall Classic that has not disappointed. Game 3 was an historic 18-inning classic with the Dodgers emerging victorious on a Freddie Freeman walk-off homer in the bottom of the 18th.

We would be remiss to not mention that the Shohei Ohtani offensive heroics were on full display in Game 3, with two home runs and reaching base nine times. This is three more than any other player has ever had in a World Series game.

But despite the gut punch of a loss in Game 3, Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays came back the next day in Game 4, yes, physically exhausted, yet maintaining their resilience, emerging victorious against the Dodgers by scoring two runs in the third inning and four runs in the seventh.

“I think that we knew it was going to be a great series,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “This (Blue Jays) team is talented, they’re resilient, and they came back fighting.”

Game 5 on Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium will be a repeat of excitement with 22-year old rookie Trey Yesavage pitching for the Blue Jays, and veteran pitcher Blake Snell for the Dodgers. In Game 1 last Friday, Snell took the loss due a huge Toronto nine-run sixth inning, making for an 11-4 Blue Jays victory.

Toronto will be looking to repeat their success against Snell in tonight’s Game 5 face-off in LA—first pitch at 8:00PM ET/5:00 PT.
