BROOKLYN, NY — This weekend promises to deliver a gripping fight in New York as the undefeated Xander Zayas and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis go against each other on Saturday night, June 27.
Saturday Fight Night is live and exclusive on DAZN PPV and Ultimate Tier, as Matchroom and Top Rank team up to stage the world title showdown at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Zayas, 23-0, (13 KOs) will defend his WBO and WBA world junior middleweight titles after unifying them in his homeland of Puerto Rico this past January by defeating Abass Baraou. At 23-years-old, he became boxing’s youngest unified ruler and the first Puerto Rican to unify at the weight.
For Ennis, 35-0 (31 KOs), the goal is simple—to become a two-weight unified champion in just his second fight at the weight.
The Philadelphia star, 28, destroyed Uisma Lima inside the first round in his first bout at middleweight to claim the interim WBA title, making a clear statement to the division.
